Galisteo Basin Preserve Hike
About this event
Roland Pabst will lead the December hike in Galisteo Basin. This hike is rated moderate, the distance is 2.9 miles with a total elevation gain of 500ft. There will be wonderful views of the Galisteo Basin, and the Sandia, Ortiz, Jemez, and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Directions
- Take 25 North to exit 290
- From Exit 290, go 5.7 miles to the sign “Galisteo Basin Preserve” - Astral Valley Road
- On Astral Valley Road, take 1st road on the right, “New Moon Overlook”. Trail head shortly afterwards. Parking on the left and right side of the road.
After the hike, there will be an optional lunch at Cafe Fina, good food and of course stimulating conversation.
