This group is for the Newcomers who are single to socialize and meet other singles. The first meeting will be a potluck dinner to discuss future activities (at members' homes, restaurants, etc.) that would be enjoyed by all, frequency of activities and planning future gatherings. After members join the Group, information related to the potluck dinner will be sent by the Coordinator with the information needed (date, time and place).

We meet on the 4th Friday of the month at a member's home. On a rotating basis, every month a new play is selected, ordered, and delivered, and roles are assigned. After the readings, everyone participates in what is usually a very lively discussion.

This group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6 PM at Second Street Brewery.
This group will examine the discovery of the atom, radiation, U-235, U-238 and plutonium and more with asides into relativity, quantum mechanics, AI, VR and quantum computing. We will read, have guest speakers, and tour sites. Some possible field trips are Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia Labs, the Bradbury Museum and the Trinity site.
New Mexico played an important role in the development of the atomic bomb. Its tech centers continue to lead today. With such a rich history on our doorsteps, we propose an expanded reading group, using Richard Rhodes’ “The Making of the Atomic Bomb” as the leaping off point.
You don't need to be a scientist to be a member of this group, just curious - no tests.

Each second Tuesday morning of each month (except January & February) we hike and explore trails around Santa Fe. Hikes are senior-rated, Easy, Moderate or Difficult. Hikes will last 2-3 hours.
The meeting location and start time varies each month. Check the Newcomers' calendar for current information.
Registration is usually Not Required, check the calendar each month.
NOTE: Due to liability concerns we have a "no dog" policy (sorry).

On the 4th Wednesday of each month (except holidays) this group meets at 10 AM. Walks range from easy, level, city walks to somewhat more hilly and rocky with sand/gravel terrain. They are about 2 miles long and 1 to 1.5 hours in time and are less strenuous than the hikes. Optional lunch often follows the walk.
Members of the group volunteer to lead along the trails and paths available around Santa Fe. Walk details are sent to all members by email one week in advance indicating the meeting place, walk level and other important details.

For casual golfers (men and women) who want to stay close to Santa Fe. Weather permitting, this Group starts early April through the end of October.
Green fees are quite reasonable at this 18-hole municipal course. There is a par 3 executive 9-hole course adjacent to the 18-hole course where beginners can improve their skills. No tee times are necesssary for the par 3.

For players (men and women) who want to try different courses. We play at various courses within a one hour drive from Santa Fe including Cochiti, Santa Ana, Towa, Los Alamos, BlackMesa, UNM. Weather permitting, this group starts early April until early November. The courses are, of moderate difficulty, but you don't have to be an expert to enjoy these courses. Courses normally range in price from $40-$65 for Seniors for 18 holes with a cart.

Have fun with fellow Mah Jongg players, using the rules for American style Mah Jongg of the National Mah Jongg League, Inc. Beginners are welcome as well as more experienced players. The only requirement is a current year's Mah Jongg card from the National Mah Jongg League.
Members meet the first and third Wednesday at 1:30 PM at a location that varies with the number of players, sometimes DeVargas Mall and sometimes at a member's home.

Get-togethers are groups of 6 - 10 per host who volunteers to open their home to guests. The Coordinator selects the theme for the eveining - drinks, gourmet snacks/hors d'oeuvres and/or dinner. Everyone
contributes food and/or drinks to share with their assigned group.
The goal is to make every attempt to rotate hosts and provide a fun environment for members to meet, have lively conversation, fun and meet new people! Everyone is invited!
