Newcomers Club Shakespeare fans created this Group wherein the coordinator notifies members of Shakespeare performances far and wide (in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, or perhaps streaming from England). The Table Play Reading Group meets monthly in members' homes. Members are notified by the coordinator. A play is selected, ordered, and roles are assigned at least a month before each reading. Outdoor Sports

This group is active only during the ski season. This year the group meets on Mondays at 9 AM directly at the quad chair for first lift and again at 10 AM for late starters. For further information contact the Coordinator, Steve Venturoni (Membership Directory).

Each second Tuesday morning of the month (except January & February) we hike and explore trails in the beautiful Santa Fe area. Our hikes are typically rated as Moderate or Easy-Moderate by the well-known local hiking guides. Hikes will last 2-3 hours with a target return to Santa Fe by 1 PM. We meet at the trailhead appropriate for the specific hike. Trailhead meeting time is 9:00 AM in the SUMMER to avoid mid-day heat. NOTE: if you wish to hike with the group, you must register with the hiking coordinator. Reservations are required to hike. Note: Due to liability concerns we have a "no dog" policy (sorry). On the fourth Wednesday of each month, (except holidays) the Walking Group meets at 10:00 AM. Walks range from easy, level, city walks to somewhat more hilly, rocky with sandy/gravel terrain. They are about 2 miles long and 1-1 1/2 hours in time and are less strenuous than the hikes. Optional lunch often follows the walk. Members of the group volunteer to lead along the many wonderful trails and paths available in the Santa Fe area. Walks details are sent to all group members by email one week in advance indicating the meeting place, walk level and other important details. For casual golfers, men and women who want to stay close to Santa Fe. Greens fees are quite reasonable at this 18 hole municipal course. There is a par 3 executive 9 hole course adjacent to the 18 hole course where beginners can improve their skills. No tee times are necessary for the par 3. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU MUST REGISTER. For players (men and women) who want to try different courses. We play at Cochiti, Santa Ana, TOWA, UNM courses and others. Have fun with fellow Mah Jongg players, using the rules for American style Mah Jongg of the National Mah Jongg League, Inc.. Beginners are heartily welcomed (after purchase of the current year's card from the National Mah Jongg League) as well as more experienced players. Members meet in the library at The Montecito of Santa Fe, 500 Rodeo Rd. at 1:30pm every Wednesday with a current Mah Jongg card in hand. On the second Friday of each month, Gourmet I meets for small dinner parties or happy hour/hors d’oeuvres in small groups hosted in a private home. Get-togethers feature smaller groups of 8-10 per host who volunteer to open their homes to guests each month. Enjoy drinks, gourmet snacks and/or dinners with the theme chosen by the hosts. Everyone contributes food and/or drinks to share with their assigned group. The goal is to make every attempt to rotate hosts and provide a fun environment for members to meet, have lively conversation, fun, and meet new people!
