This is a new daytime group for members interested in Historical Fiction. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:30-3pm. This group is filled and is currently not accepting new members. Please contact coordinator to be placed on a wait list for future openings.
Calling all mystery readers to join a new book group beginning in late Fall 2022. Books will run the gamut of classic mystery writers to the hybrid mystery-thrillers popular today. Group meets 3rd Tuesday of every month. This group is filled and not accepting any new members.
The Movie Group has resumed activity but it is limited to the few movies currently being released in theaters. The coordinator contacts members as soon as movie schedules are known and everyone goes at the same time. There is no set schedule. "We’re the friendliest movie critics in town."
Newcomers Club Shakespeare fans created this Group wherein the coordinator notifies members of Shakespeare performances far and wide (in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, or perhaps streaming from England).
Future activities may include play-reading sessions, and discussions of the sonnets. Group members attend performances independently.
The Table Play Reading Group meets monthly currently via Zoom. Members are notified by the coordinator. A play is selected, ordered, and roles are assigned at least a month before each reading. At every meeting, members read their roles and the group has a lively discussion.

The Writers’ Group is for members who write and/or want to write and share their work in a confidential and safe environment. Requirements: computer access, commitment to complete assignments, and participation. The sessions take place on the first Wednesday of the month at the "Tribes Coffee House" at 10 AM. On the second Friday of each month, Gourmet I meets for small dinner parties or happy hour/hors d’oeuvres in small groups hosted in a private home. Get-togethers feature smaller groups of 8-10 per host who volunteer to open their homes to guests each month. Enjoy drinks, gourmet snacks and/or dinners with the theme chosen by the hosts. Everyone contributes food and/or drinks to share with their assigned group. The goal is to make every attempt to rotate hosts and provide a fun environment for members to meet, have lively conversation, fun, and meet new people! Everyone is invited!”
These predetermined gourmet groups of 6-8 people who dine together once a month emerged years ago when Newcomers first began and as friendships and relationships developed.
Anyone can start a new group in this category if you have 6-8 people ready to go. You can show your interest by contacting the VP of Newcomers.
Out-to-Lunch Bunch is once again active. Enjoy casual off-the-menu lunches at restaurants around town where we meet for conversation and good food.
Have fun with fellow Mah Jongg players, using the rules for American style Mah Jongg of the National Mah Jongg League. Beginners are heartily welcomed as well as more experienced players. ! We are currently meeting twice a month on Wednesdays from 1:30 pm to around 4:30 pm at members' homes for our get-togethers. We are eager and open for more active members.
This group is active only during the ski season. This year the group meets on Mondays at 9 AM directly at the quad chair for first lift and again at 10 AM for late starters.
Each second Tuesday morning of the month (except January & February) we hike and explore trails in the beautiful Santa Fe area. Our hikes are typically rated as Moderate or Easy-Moderate by the well-known local hiking guides. Hikes will last 2-3 hours with a target
return to Santa Fe by 1 PM.
We meet at the trailhead appropriate for the specific hike. Trailhead meeting time is 9:00 AM in the SUMMER to avoid mid-day heat. NOTE: if you wish to hike with the group, you must register with the hiking coordinator. Reservations are required to hike.
Note: Due to liability concerns we have a "no dog" policy (sorry)
On the fourth Wednesday of each month, (except holidays) the Walking Group meets at 10:00 AM. Walks range from easy, level, city walks to somewhat more hilly, rocky with sandy/gravel terrain. They are about 2 miles long and 1-1 1/2 hours in time and are less strenuous than the hikes. Optional lunch often follows the walk. Members of the group volunteer to lead along the many wonderful trails and paths available in the Santa Fe area. Walks details are sent to all group members by email one week in advance indicating the meeting place, walk level and other important details.
For casual golfers, men and women who want to stay close to Santa Fe. Greens fees are quite reasonable at this 18 hole municipal course. There is a par 3 executive 9 hole course adjacent to the 18 hole course where beginners can improve their skills. No tee times are necessary for the par 3.

For players (men and women) who want to try different courses. We play at Cochiti, Santa Ana, TOWA, UNM courses and others. Courses normally range in price from $40-$65 for Seniors for 18 holes with a cart. You don’t have to be an expert to enjoy these courses. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU MUST REGISTER HERE.
