Our September Waterfall Trail hike starts at the Black Canyon trailhead of NM 475 on the way to the Ski Basin.
The trail head is just before Hyde State Park ranger station, [the stone buildings].
We will start the hike at 10 AM. There’s a restroom at the trail head.
We will actually hike 3 trails: The East Circle Trail, The Piggyback Trail, and the Waterfall Trail.
Much of the 2.5 mile loop will be easy, except for a steep section with steps at the beginning and narrow passage through the canyon leading to the waterfall.
There will be a fair amount of shade. Bring water and snacks. There are few obstacles but some people may feel more secure with hiking sticks.
