The Writing Group is a gathering of people who write poetry, memoir, fiction and non-fiction. On the first Wednesday of each month members are invited to read 5 to 15 minutes of something they wrote. Everyone does not have to read every month; we need listeners too. We discuss the readings so that we can help and encourage each other. It is always fun and lively. Come join us!
If you would like to receive email reminders about the group, click Interest Groups on the Menu Bar and scroll down to select the Writing Group. Then click the "Sign me up" button.

Come visit the home/studio of sculptor Roberto (Bob) Cardinale and his wife, PJ, in Eldorado. Bob delights in creating small churches, missions, and synagogues out of wood — handsome, semi-rustic, earth-toned structures.
New Mexico is known for its dark skies, views of the Milky Way, and multicultural constellations that soar overhead. Come witness the night sky in all its glory.
The Cerrillos Hills State Park has scenic views of the surrounding mountains and it is riddled with historic mines. We will hike three miles and be on the trail for about two hours. There is a five dollar per car fee at the park, be sure to bring cash. Ken Friedman will lead this hike. Go south on Highway 14. Turn right to the village of Cerrillos. Turn right at the stop sign, cross the railroad tracks and veer to the right. Follow the signs to Cerrillos Hills State Park, Highway 96. Park at the main entrance.
Join fellow Newcomers for lunch at a location to be determined by the coordinator. Further details will be sent to the Out-to-Lunch Bunch registrants.
Join us for a sommelier-led tasting of the wines of South America at Susan’s Fine Wines, a locally owned wine and spirits shop. We will be sampling red and white wines from several South American countries. Cheese and nibbles will be provided.
